About Us

Supporting children, young people, and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities requires strong, joined-up partnerships that can respond to their needs with consistency, compassion, and expertise. Across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland, organisations have come together with a shared commitment to improving experiences and outcomes for local families. It is within this context that the LLR SEND & Inclusion Alliance has been formed—a unified approach designed to strengthen collaboration, reduce variation, and ensure that support is accessible when and where it is needed most.

Established in August 2025, the LLR SEND & Inclusion Alliance is the partnership arrangement sponsored by the executive teams of the local organisations to ensure children, young people and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities and their families and carers enjoy fulfilling lives and achieve their full potential. All the people in the partner organisations who are working to ensure local people can access impactful support from the right people at the right time are now members of this new Alliance as well as their own employing organisation. The Alliance is responsible for the delivery of the Change Programme Partnership phase three workstreams and will deliver these by bringing together education, health, social care and voluntary and community sector organisations; embracing difference, solving challenges, reducing unwarranted variation and inequality, and improving resilience
