Joint Commissioning

Our new SEND & Inclusion Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland: Joint Commissioning Strategy, 2025-2030 is now live!

Our new SEND & Inclusion Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland: Joint Commissioning Strategy, 2025-2030 is now live!

An easy read version of the strategy and a more detailed version is being hosted on the Leicester City Council website on behalf of all partners, and can be viewed at:  Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Joint Commissioning Strategy 2025-2030

The strategy has been co-produced by Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council, the local Integrated Care Board (ICB)s and then local Parent Carer Forums – Leicester City Parent Carer Forum (LCPCF; Leicestershire SEND Hub; and, Rutland Parent Carer Voice (RCPV).

The strategy contains a high-level vision for joint commissioning in Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland for SEND that is based on removing barriers to opportunity, improving equity of access and providing care and support to enable children to enjoy and achieve life to their maximum potential.   We want to do this through the best use of available resources and spending wisely to achieve greatest impact; we recognise that this is best achieved through early intervention that supports independence, choice, and personalisation.

At its heart, is a commitment to working together across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to improve outcomes and experiences for children and young people with SEND and to make co-production central to all of our work.

We are now working to define specific actions for us to work on in order to deliver the strategy.  We will share further updates on this action plan and the activities that we have taken forward and the impact of them.
